Del Amo Construction Implements Enhanced Safety Measures In Response To COVID-19

Upon re-opening our jobsites on March 23, 2020 when government officials established construction as an essential business, Del Amo immediately implemented a number of enhanced safety measures to respond to COVID-19. In addition to complying with all CDC and government regulations, we expanded upon them to take the safety and health of our staff and the staff of our subcontractors to an elevated level.  This included enhancements in the areas of communication, social distancing, control plans and cleaning/sanitation. A few examples include:

  • Communicated to our personnel CDC, LA Department of Building and Safety, and all other local regulatory agency guidelines relating to the location of our projects.
  • Communicated recommendations and other important tips to protect against COVID-19 to personnel via jobsite signage, email and text message, where possible.
  • We established a Del Amo Exposure Control Plan that, among other enhanced safety measures, includes maintaining a daily attendance log of all workers and visitors.
  • To assist in the administration of governmental agency guidelines, we directed our superintendents to ask our subcontractors to establish and enforce their own exposure control plan that meets these guidelines.

These are just a few examples in a long list of enhanced measures we implemented.  We continue our job site safety enhancements as we see more opportunities to implement best practices. We are actively monitoring this evolving situation and will continue to comply with all government requirements to do our part and protect our personnel, all jobsite workers and their families from the spread of COVID-19.
